The Shining actress dies

Shelley Duvall, best known for her role in The Shining, has died at the age of 75.

Duvall died in her sleep from complications of diabetes at her home in Blanco, Texas, her partner told The Hollywood Reporter.

“My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us. Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley,” Dan Gilroy said.

Duvall played Wendy Torrance in the iconic 1980 horror film directed by Stanley Kubrick, starring alongside Jack Nicholson.
